Public health provides visits for babies and children for education regarding infant feeding, health and safety, childcare, car seats and parenting concerns.
We also offer the Follow Along program. This is a program for infants and children birth to 3 years old. Every four months parents are mailed a questionnaire including developmental questions, such as is your baby rolling over? Parents fill out this questionnaire and mail it back to public health. A nurse checks this and if your child appears to be doing well, you are sent activity sheets of what to expect in the next few months. If it looks like your child is not doing something we expect he/she should be, we will give you a call and offer suggestions and resources. This is a free program that all children in the county are eligible for.
